Teaching with Technology: Sharing Best Practices

Posted by wbrennan on March 21, 2007

This afternoon I decided to go out for a nice walk with my wife to get some fresh air and stretch the muscles. Prior to getting home I met with a few teachers in my building. I have a lot of respect for these teachers for many reasons, but most of all they were really looking to change the way their students learn.

I have started to compile a list of best practices in the use of technology across my school and will be sharing this information with the teachers. This blog entry is really an attempt for me to open up our conversation to all that come by. Please submit your comments through my blog. If you dont have much time, feel free to just leave a quick desciption. I am really eager to hear your experiences and perhaps we can continue these converstations to learn even more. Depending on the number of comments, I would like to follow up with a few of you and record a conversation which could be uploaded to ITunes for a PodCast. Thanks and happy blogging!

Technology Planning 2007-2010

Posted by wbrennan on January 17, 2007

MeI cant believe three years has passed and we are already coming up for a renewed technology plan. So much has changed since 2003-2004. I am very excited to renew the committment to our technology plans and reach out to a much greater audience as we develop the plan. Recently, I sat with our Technology Committee and drafted up a set of visions for the district. I have always found it advantagous to run these ideas through our committee and get a broad approach to the technology planning process. Our plan will be completed by the end of March and soon after a presentation will be made to our board. If you have been working on your plan in your district or are a member of your technology team, would you please send me an email or connect with me on Skype @ maristbb.

iPod – PodCasts

Posted by wbrennan on January 17, 2007

iPodsI finally decided to buy myself the 30gig Video iPod. So far I have found great uses for it. Probably the best feature to me is the use of Podcasts and the ability to stay connected to learning no matter what I do. If you are into Instructional Technology then make sure you subscrive to David Warlicks Podcasts through iTunes. I find each of them to be excellent.
